Czech Zoological Society

The library of the Czech Zoological Society has been built up gradually since 1934 from periodicals, mainly of foreign origin, received in exchange for the journal Věstník Československé zoologické společnosti, since 1990 for the journal Acta Societatis Zoologicae Bohemoslovacae and since 1993 for the journal Acta Societatis Zoologicae Bohemicae.
At present, the library of the Czech Zoological Society contains a unique collection of 902 periodicals devoted to zoology and natural sciences that have been received in exchange from libraries in 69 countries worldwide. It includes about 20,300 volumes of various journals.
The library is frequently used by research workers of various scientific and research institutes, by students of universities and also by amateurs interested in the problems of biology, zoology, ecology and environmental protection.
